Based in Bolton, Katherine is a Business Advisory Assistant Manager, working closely with a wide range of businesses across a variety of sectors. With a practical, hands-on approach developed through years of experience, she supports clients with their accounts, helps them understand their financial position and provides responsive guidance that supports informed decision-making. Known for building strong relationships and delivering a dependable service, Katherine works collaboratively with both clients and colleagues to ensure businesses receive the support they need to navigate challenges, meet their goals and continue growing with confidence.
“One of the things I enjoy most about my role is getting to know the people behind the businesses I work with. Every organisation is different, with its own ambitions, challenges and priorities, so I believe it’s important to take the time to understand what success looks like for each client.
For me, strong relationships are built on trust, communication and consistency. Clients want to know they can speak to someone who understands their business and is available when they need support. I pride myself on being approachable, responsive and easy to work with, helping clients feel confident that they have someone in their corner who genuinely cares about helping them succeed.”
“Many people think accounting is simply about compliance and producing accounts, but in reality, it goes much further than that. While delivering accurate financial information remains essential, I see my role as helping clients understand what those numbers mean and how they can use them to make better business decisions.
Whether a business is navigating growth, managing change or planning for the future, having reliable financial insight can make a significant difference. I enjoy helping clients gain clarity around their finances and providing practical support that enables them to focus on running and developing their business with confidence.”
“A typical week involves managing a portfolio of clients, reviewing accounts preparation work, supporting junior team members and ensuring key deadlines are achieved. Alongside this, I regularly communicate with clients to discuss their accounts, answer questions and help resolve any issues that arise.
I also work closely with managers and partners across AAB to ensure we continue delivering a high-quality service. The variety of the role is something I particularly enjoy. Every client brings different opportunities and challenges, which keeps the work interesting and allows me to continually develop my commercial understanding across a wide range of sectors.”
“My career path developed through practical, hands-on experience rather than a traditional academic route. Early on, I discovered that I enjoyed understanding how businesses operate and finding ways to support them. Over time, I gained experience across different industries and developed a real appreciation for the role trusted advisers can play in helping businesses achieve their goals.
That experience has given me a strong understanding of the challenges many organisations face, as well as the importance of delivering advice that is practical, relevant and tailored to each client’s circumstances. I believe some of the most valuable insights come from working closely with businesses and understanding their day-to-day realities.”
“I bring a strong practical understanding of accounts preparation and client service, built through years of hands-on experience. I am organised, approachable, and enjoy solving problems.”
“One of the most rewarding aspects of being part of AAB is the opportunity to work alongside talented colleagues with a wide range of specialist expertise.
Being able to draw on knowledge from across the wider business means we can provide well-rounded advice and deliver solutions that address a client’s broader needs. I enjoy being part of a team that genuinely works together to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients, while also creating an environment where people are encouraged to learn, develop and share knowledge.”
“One of the things I value most about working in business advisory is that there is always something new to learn. Businesses evolve, industries change and new challenges emerge, which means there are constant opportunities to develop knowledge and expand expertise.
Looking ahead, I am excited to continue my professional development, broaden my experience across different areas of business advisory and strengthen the support I provide to clients. I am equally passionate about continuing to mentor colleagues and contribute to the growth of the wider team.”
