“Providing clarity in the numbers & confidence in the decisions.”

Simeon Woosey is a Senior Business Services Manager based in our Bolton office, bringing more than 25 years of experience to his role and the team. He works closely with SMEs, family-owned businesses, and clients in the professional services and retail sectors, as well as supporting larger corporates with tax planning and compliance. Simeon is known for his ability to translate complex financial matters into practical advice, helping clients to anticipate challenges and plan with confidence. He combines technical knowledge with a calm, supportive approach, making him a trusted advisor to both clients and colleagues.

Turning complexity into clarity

“Over more than two decades, I’ve developed both a strong eye for detail and a practical sense of what my clients really need. I focus on making complex information clear and straightforward, cutting through the jargon and focusing on the need-to-knows. I’ve also worked with enough businesses to spot potential challenges before they become problems, which means I can often help clients take action early and be proactive, rather than reactive. My clients will often say they value the way I make accounting feel simple. That’s exactly what I aim for in everything I do.”

Building meaningful relationships

“When I first meet a new client, I focus on listening more than speaking. I want to understand what matters most to them before offering any advice. That approach has helped me build strong, long-term relationships, even with clients who were hesitant at first. One memorable example was a client who had lost confidence after a bad experience with a previous advisor. By being consistent and transparent, I was able to gain their trust. Years later, they still come to me first before making major business decisions.”

Advice that makes a difference

“I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers and solving problems. My interest in accounting really developed when I saw the impact that strong financial guidance can have on a small business. For me, it was about more than just spreadsheets. It was about giving people clarity and confidence to make the right decisions. That sense of purpose is what inspired me to pursue a career in accounting and what continues to motivate me today.”

Value in variety

“No two weeks look the same in my role. Early in the week, I tend to focus on planning and setting clear deadlines for clients and the team. By midweek, I’m usually digging into the numbers, reviewing accounts, working on tax planning, and troubleshooting challenges that have cropped up. Towards the end of the week, I spend more time catching up with clients, finalising reports, and making sure the team has what they need to move smoothly into the following week. The variety is what keeps things interesting. There’s always a balance between forward-looking planning and day-to-day problem-solving.”

Peace of mind

“The most satisfying part of my work is seeing the relief on a client’s face when I’ve simplified something that’s been causing them stress. Finances can be overwhelming, and if I can ease that burden, I feel I’ve done my job well.”

Helping clients achieve their goals

“Recently, I supported a client who was worried about cash flow during a period of growth. I worked with them to create a rolling forecast and negotiated better terms with their bank. That extra breathing room gave them the confidence to move forward with their plans. For me, that’s what this job is all about, turning challenges into opportunities for my clients to help them achieve their goals.”

What I bring to the table

“Clients often describe me as patient and clear. I think those qualities are just as important as technical expertise, especially when people are feeling under pressure. I also make it a priority to keep learning. Tax legislation changes all the time, so staying up to date is essential. My approach is always to focus on how these changes practically affect clients rather than overwhelming them with unnecessary detail.

Even after so many years in the profession, I learn from my colleagues all the time, and I enjoy sharing my own experience with junior team members. Mentoring is a big part of my role, and seeing others grow in confidence is hugely rewarding.”

Looking ahead

“Accounting isn’t just about looking backwards. A big part of what I do is forward-looking, helping clients plan for the future. I’m particularly interested in how automation and data visualisation can support that. The right tools can cut down on repetitive tasks and present information in a way that makes financial health easier to grasp for anyone. It’s an exciting time to be in the profession, and I’m eager to keep developing in these areas so I can give clients even greater clarity and confidence in their decisions.”
