Meet the Business Advisory team
Owner-managed Business. SMEs. Family Businesses.
Year End Accounts Compliance, Management Accounts, Cloud Solutions, one off pieces of work like grant claims or forecasting.

Rosie Bruce is a Manager in our Business Advisory team. In this role, Rosie handles reviewing year end accounts and management accounts, as well as preparing some of the more “complex” sets of accounts the team handles.
Whilst she is based in Aberdeen, she works with clients in various locations and with teams across the business, in particular she collaborates with the VAT and corporate tax teams to support her clients with the aim of delivering an awesome service through an effective and efficient one-team approach.
“Communication is key with our clients, and I always like to make myself accessible to them. It’s great when they know they can lift the phone for a chat at any point, and that it doesn’t have to be about their accounts! People work with people, so getting to know our clients is important so you can deliver the service they need, that suits them as an individual. Clients should be able to ask me anything, if I can’t answer, I will introduce them to right contact in the business. A working relationship like this is great.”
“We always strive to relate to our clients and their individual situations, so that we can get behind them 100%, through the good and the bad times. To do this clients need to hear from us more than just once a year when it’s time to prepare their accounts! The way we approach client service is to be looking forward with them, understand their business goals and help them to achieve them.”
“Sometimes in our team we find that by finding the solution for one answer we often spot some challenges that need to be overcome. This could be from a tax or VAT perspective, for example. But no matter what we always find a solution and with the rate the business is growing, there is always someone in the wider team with the right expertise to assist our clients. We are problem solvers at heart, we need to be on the ball and think a few steps ahead… it is what keeps our jobs exciting!
The compliance part is just a tiny part of our job, we’re really business advisors who want to work our clients to help them reach their goals and maximise their potential. It is really satisfying and rewarding to see clients reach their goals – the little ones and the big ones!”
“It’s an exciting time for accounts, with so much tech coming in to help both us and our clients we have more time to help clients on the advisory piece, over and above the compliance work. This means more regular client interaction which is the best part of the job.
I also really enjoy working with and training other members of our team. Seeing their skills and confidence grow is great. I joined the profession straight from school and my first manager took me under her wing when I first started – I owe my career to her! So, I enjoy helping the team in the same way too.”
