Practical guidance. Workplace matters. People & Culture experience. People & Culture related matters.

“NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN OUR PEOPLE”

Based in our Leeds office, Elizabeth Warner is a highly skilled People and Culture Advisor with a varied and dynamic role. Her day-to-day role involves supporting the People & Culture Partners to deliver guidance and support across all levels of the business. She works closely with line managers to navigate complexities such as employee relations, performance management and absence management. In addition to advising managers, she is a key point of contact for all team members, offering support and responding to a wide range of queries. Elizabeth also contributes to AAB’s initiatives focusing on fairness, compliance and creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

A RELATIONSHIP BUILT ON TRUST

“An ideal relationship is based on trust, openness and mutual respect. I want my colleagues to feel that I genuinely care and that they can rely on me for balanced and thoughtful support with a legal and practical approach. I pride myself on being knowledgeable and fair by bringing a sense of calm to challenging situations and helping them make confident, informed decisions.”

TECHNOLOGY BUT WITH A HUMAN TOUCH

“While technology offers efficiency and flexibility, it will never replace the value of face-to-face interactions. That is where strong, long-lasting relationships are built, and the most valuable conversations are had. I always aim to strike a balance by using digital tools where they add value but prioritising time to have interactions where they matter.”

TRANSFORMING THE IMPOSSIBLE INTO POSSIBLE

“One of the biggest challenges in HR is balancing what the business needs with employee wellbeing, especially in complex or sensitive situations. It’s not always easy, but I approach these moments with empathy and care while ensuring we remain aligned with the organisation’s goals and legal responsibilities. I find it deeply rewarding when we’re able to reach fair resolutions.”

PEOPLE FIRST APPROACH

“For me, nothing is more important than our people. They shape everything we do by guiding me to prioritise empathy, compassion and care in every interaction I have. Whether I am supporting a colleague through a personal challenge or improving our HR processes, having people as one of our business values ensures we’re building a workplace environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed.”

STRENGTHS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

“For me, I believe I bring a calm and empathetic presence to all matters within AAB. I pride myself on my ability to listen intently and build trust with employees at all levels.

One of the greatest compliments I’ve received was being told I made someone feel heard and respected during a difficult situation. That means the world to me, because at the end of the day, people won’t always remember the process, but they will remember how you made them feel.”

MORE THAN JUST POLICIES

“Often, the perception of my team can be that we are all about the policies or saying ‘no’. Yes, we do have to follow procedures, but we want to allow people to do their best work and create environments where they can thrive.”

EXCITING FUTURE AHEAD

“What excites me the most about the future is being a part of a company which is continuously expanding in all areas. I am looking forward to growing my expertise and continuing to make an impact on building stronger teams, supporting employee development and driving a positive workplace culture.”
