Meet the Audit & Assurance team
A variety of clients throughout a range of business sectors.
Audit and assurance services.
As Audit Director in AAB’s Dungannon office, Debbie drives the audit service line with an authentic passion for the field and a team-focused mindset that ensures her team are supported through every step of the journey.
Debbie provides her clients with assurance that instils confidence in their systems, procedures, and financial information. She believes that clients need to be certain that the accounts they receive are accurate, reliable, and transparent and it is her job to deliver this and help them understand what works, as well as what doesn’t!
Audit can be quite a demanding profession, with everchanging requirements and a demand to stay ahead of competitors but it’s a challenge that Debbie thoroughly enjoys – she’s genuinely an advocate for audit and can truthfully say that she really loves what she does. She believes that the tech-enabled approach adopted by AAB and the wider AAB Group is helping support our audit strategy, allowing us to stay ahead and keep our position as market leaders in the industry.
“When working in audit, I think it’s important to have trust, open communication and mutual respect that sees us both listening to each other to deliver the highest quality service. I love being part of a client’s journey and success story, there’s a great sense of achievement to be felt in accomplishing common goals.”
“From a leadership position I believe you reap the rewards of the energy you bring to a team. You can’t expect the team to be positive and enthusiastic about what they do if you don’t radiate that energy yourself. To quote Dale Carnegie: “people rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing” – I’m proud that having an ethos of positivity, enthusiasm and fun is something that we value strongly as an AAB Group and believe it’s testament to the great successes of our team and the service we provide to our clients.”
“I think what I enjoy most about AAB is that it doesn’t matter where you come from or what department you’re in, everyone at all levels works together as a team to achieve the best possible outcome that they can for their clients. They want to get the job done, and they want it to be done to a high standard.”
“I think that the leadership team always drive and push for the most positive outcomes, and if that means that you have to do something different, then we do – we always try to think outside the box. AAB and the wider AAB Group are founded on being different, and embracing people with different ideas and ways of thanking and doing things – that’s how you drive innovation and change, through bold moves.”
“I think that some of the greatest challenges in the audit specialism is the changing and evolving regulatory environment that we work within. Being able to mitigate or reduce that challenge you have to work to get to know your clients and their businesses. You have to work closely with the team to develop their skills to ensure that they have the knowledge that they need. I make sure I’m always developing my own skills, to be able to carry out my job to the highest standard.”
“What’s exciting about the AAB Group is that they’ve always grown, faced new challenges head-on and they’re always looking for ways to expand and adapt. Whilst doing those things they are also focussed on giving their employees new and challenging opportunities, whether that be through new business opportunities, service lines, or geographical location.”
