Based in our Aberdeen office, Amanda works extensively on delivering commercially focused tax advice throughout the whole lifecycle of a company. She supports businesses and individuals with all aspects of tax compliance.
Amanda can advise you on a wide range of issues, from raising funds, structuring, reorganisations, equity incentive arrangements, pre-sale and exit tax planning and IHT planning.
“I love working with a wide range of clients. It’s great to work with clients that take you along on their journey and are open about their aspirations and plans. It allows me to better advise them, not only now but in the future.
I think the work that I do gives our clients peace of mind. I always have their best interests at heart, and I genuinely care about them. The best compliment for me is when a client really makes me a part of their team. I often support clients through life changing events and clients often say, “I couldn’t have got through it without you.” That is hugely rewarding, and it makes me feel privileged to be in that position.”
“The relationships I have with clients and the trust they have in me, means that I’m able to have very honest conversations with them. I’m passionate about giving the best advice to a client and sometimes that means telling them that their proposal may not be the best way to progress. Often there is a better answer from a tax perspective that may still deliver what they want to achieve, so you need to be able to have those difficult conversations. It’s great when I have that trusted relationship and I can push back sometimes to really get the best result for the client.”
“AAB have a fantastic culture centred around awesome client service and that was embedded in me from the moment I started at AAB as a graduate. I’ve had amazing training across the business, a breadth of client exposure and opportunities to progress.
It’s been a great foundation for me to build my career and join the leadership team. Being part of the leadership team means I’m now more focused on looking at the impact myself and my team have across the firm. It’s very much about a firm wide mentality. I take that part of my role very seriously but also still have a focus on my own team and the people I’m directly working with.”
“I love the fact that there are no blockers to career progression in AAB and I’m now supporting my team to take the opportunities available to them. I want everyone to see what their career path could look like in AAB and support them in that development.
I’m involved with the AAB graduate scheme and looking at how we can enhance our current offering, deliver value to graduates and show them the support that’s available. I feel a real sense of achievement when the people I support and coach develop and grow. It gives me a huge amount of satisfaction to see others progress.”
